Please enter comments about the various on-line assessments that you look at for the Gavin School District RtI initiative. Please start (and use) a new blog for each assessment tool. How about also adding the web pages that you found the information on? That will help the rest of us get to the information.

Lots of neat software and toys! Again, no intervention suggestions, just monitoring tools, which I don't think we need, since we already have MAP testing.
It has better questions than way back when but no strategies to teach with.
There is a new product called Read Now Power Up that is geared for grades 5-9.
According to this report: http://kmnet.renlearn.com/Library/R003829526GF7B76.pdf
* STAR Early Literacy and STAR is the assessment pieces.
* AR is the personalized practice and progress-monitoring system
It seems that the Power Up! program is a complete curriculum with 4 ability groupings that have planed intervention for students in Tiers 2 & 3.
I didn't see the Read Now Power Up that Chris was taking about. I don't think this is the tool that we are looking for. It levels to the student's ability just like map and does not provide any interventions. It just tells you the area that the teacher needs to give extra practice with.
